liver dinner Fed on 09/07. It’s librarian liver dinner! These are also from Awesome Mindy. The top edges are kind of dark because it sort of dried out when I didn’t keep them covered up in the fridge. I’m only mentioning this in case anyone was wondering. No? OK. I cooked up a quick, light turmeric and ginger broth to sort of counter the yangyness of the liver. Chicken livers are much lighter than, say, beef (which is super high in copper), . . .

I heart chicken hearts breakfasts

hearts and all Fed on 09/07. Awesome Mindy‘s chief of staff chicken hearts for breakfast! Because I don’t like to go too heavy for breakfasts, I tend to use a lot of poultry or fish—but these chicken soup breakfasts are kind of getting boring (to post about) and I’m always out of fish. Life so hard! Anyway, hearts are basically perfect—not too heavy like liver and other organs since it’s all muscle and all. MP does really well on them. Here, she’s getting veggie . . .
