Fed on 4/22, Sunday.
Best kidney Yesterday, I was able to make it to the farmers market to go see My Main Meat Majesty Mindy from Sleeping Cat Organic Farm. I had emailed her earlier asking if she had any animal guts for a certain brown dog and she replied saying there would be such innards. We were so, so, so thrilled to find in the treasure bag filled with lamb and beef hearts, livers, and kidneys! We brought her some of our favorite wild . . .

Chicken stew Fed on 9/25, Sunday. It’s a chicken day because Awesome Mindy so very generously shared us some super awesome chickens. They’re the best!! I put one in the pressure cooker and just stewed it whole. We got all the collagen and good stuff out of the bones to be delivered into the belly of six legs. Chicken soup for the dog Chicken in a jar We’re making veggie mix with all farm garden veggies! There’s mustard greens (not at . . .

Chicken hearts Fed on 9/6, Tuesday. Chicken fingers breakfast! I say fingers because they kind of look like fat finger tips. Or tiny tips of peens. Either way, they are delicious to MP! Breakfast hurries Dinner is ground beef. Not fingers! Or tips of peens! Meat for heads Speaking of eating things like peen tips (I have TMJ, so don’t look at me), I was just thinking that buying a specific cow (whole, half, quarter, what have you) is probably the only . . .

Tongue Fed on 8/26, Friday. That’s right! It’s a nice big cow tongue, just kind of stamped for ID and cut where it was convenient to package it. Here ya goh! I felt like this was kind of in poor taste (imagine that!) but I really couldn’t help it. I wanted pictures of MP looking like she has a huge tongue. Dog with big tongue Very very big tongue Grraw More tongue Hahaha Kind . . .

Fed on 10/13. MP eats all the fishes and receives all the kisses. I think this is the last of the smelt for which I no longer had room in the freezer. Mindy’s awesome hearts also arrived to the lukewarm Jacuzzi party and are beginning to mingle a bit. . . .

bloody hearts breakfast Fed on 10/02. It is shockingly warm for a Minnesota October and that is awesome! I’m giving MP these little bloody hearts cold, in yogurt. Fresh! Piz has been working at the photography workshop for a whole week now! MP gets to see him on iChat and she likes it when he makes the noises she likes. I don’t like it when he says stuff like, “Mugget, do you want to go for a WALK?!” Mean! Dinner will be yet another . . .

liver dinner Fed on 09/07. It’s librarian liver dinner! These are also from Awesome Mindy. The top edges are kind of dark because it sort of dried out when I didn’t keep them covered up in the fridge. I’m only mentioning this in case anyone was wondering. No? OK. I cooked up a quick, light turmeric and ginger broth to sort of counter the yangyness of the liver. Chicken livers are much lighter than, say, beef (which is super high in copper), . . .

hearts and all Fed on 09/07. Awesome Mindy‘s chief of staff chicken hearts for breakfast! Because I don’t like to go too heavy for breakfasts, I tend to use a lot of poultry or fish—but these chicken soup breakfasts are kind of getting boring (to post about) and I’m always out of fish. Life so hard! Anyway, hearts are basically perfect—not too heavy like liver and other organs since it’s all muscle and all. MP does really well on them. Here, she’s getting veggie . . .
